Effects of TDZ on Preservation of Cut Branch of Cleyera japonica

  • In this report, the cut branch of Cleyera japonica was used as materials, and the rate of fresh weight change, rate of leaf losing rate and the lifespan were determined to analyze the effects of TDZ added with sucrose, citric acid, magnesium sulfate and ascorbic acid on preservation. Compared with adding silver nitrate solution(CK1) or adding distilled water(CK2), the results showed that the effects of preservative solution, 4% sucrose + 50 mg∙L-1 ascorbic acid + 50 mg∙L-1 magnesium sulfate + 150 mg∙L-1 citric acid + TDZ, is significant to prevent the leaves shedding and prolong the vase life 8 d than CK2, and the lifespan is as same as that treated with CK1, which suggested that TDZ can replace silver nitrate and become environment-friendly preservative solution of Cleyera japonica cut branches.
