Thermal Analysis Study for Prediction of Galculus Bovis and Metronidazole Capsules Shelf-Time

  • Thermogravimetry(TG) and differential thermogravimetry(DTG) technique were performed to study the thermal stabilities of Galculus Bovis and Metronidazole Capsules in atmosphere. Based on the thermal analysis data, three methods(Coats Redfern, Kissinger and Ozawa) were used to determine the kinetic parameters including activation energy E and frequency factor A. The results indicated that the kinetic parameters obtained by different method were different, and the thermal analysis was a quick, scientific and economical method to study the thermal stabilities of drugs and predict the shelf time of drugs.
