Brief Summary of Treating 51 Cases of Hyperosteogeny with Lu-gu-jiao(鹿骨胶) Mainly

The authors have treated 51 cases of all kinds of hyperosteogeny with Kang-Gu-Zhi-Zeng-Sheng (Ⅰ) (抗骨质增生一号) which is mainly composed of Lu-gu-jiao preduced by Hainan Feng-mu (枫木) Deer farm. The other principal drugs of the proved recipe are Kehmannia Glutinosa, Heiba Pyrolae Rhizoma Drynariae, Herba Epimedii, etc. The shortest and longest courses of treatment were 15 days and 80 days respectively. The average time was 34 days. 9 cases have been cured, 17 cases have had marked effect, 23 cases have been effective and 2 cases ineffective. The cured and markedly effective rate is 51%. The total effect rate is 96%. The re-examination of X-ray has showed that in 6 patients, hyperosteogeny has disappeared or abated. The results of clinical study have proved that Kang-Gu-Zhi-Zeng-Sheng (Ⅰ) has had good effect to all kinds of hyperosteogeny, especially to the hyporostcogeny of cervical vertebrae.
